Sheridan and Pilafian design the brass sound of The Quantum Marching Project
With these newly designed Jupiter marching brass instruments, Arizona State University’s Sun Devil Marching Band under the direction of James Hudson along with the Quantum Partner Corps brought fantastic new sounds to the world of the marching arts. The Quantum Marching Project was officially released during winter NAMM 2008 in Anaheim, California to industry acclaim. Chandler, Arizona [September, 2008] The Quantum
Marching Project, a collaborative effort between Mapex drums,
Jupiter band instruments and Majestic percussion to develop
a full line of marching brass, battery and front line percussion
models, introduced 5 marching brass models for 2008. Sam Pilafian,
Don Sawday and Patrick Sheridan spearheaded the design team
for marching brass development which brought a new marching
trumpet, mellophone, baritone, euphonium and contra to collegiate
marching band and Drum Corps International this year.
